HAWAII TSUNAMI VIDEO

Hawaiian people have already evacuated the island shores after the tsunami warning released yesterday, this is due to the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that hits Chile. Islands of Hawaii seems like ghost town but the tsunami that happened caused minor damages only. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center is monitoring the wave activity for the next few hours but says the danger has passed.

Vancouver Olympics Closing Ceremony Video February 28, 2010

The 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver came to an Official Closing Ceremony this February 28, 2010. The ceremony will be held at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with 55, 000 seating capacity. The 2010 Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies are said to the the first in Olympic history held indoors. Jean Grand Maitre, the artistic director of the Alberta ballet is the official choreographer of the closing.

The Closing Ceremoney will be broadcast live on their official olympic website, NBCOlympics.com. Canadian viewers can watch the ceremony live on CTV.

Tsunami threatens Pacific Ocean; Chile experienced a huge earthquake February 27, 2010

An 8.8 earthquake struck Chile this Saturday, February 27, 2010. This shattered buildings, bridges and establishments and killing 78 people as of the moment. This threatens the world as it predicted to bring tsuname around Pacific Ocean and target to get affected the quarter of the world. Chilean Television networks had showed already the effects of the 8.8 magnitude earthquakes. Images of devastating effect of earthquake are starting to crawl over the internet. Injured people lay in the streets, roads are destroyed and electricity and water were cut out in many areas.

Experts warned that a tsunami could strike anywhere in the Pacific, and Hawaii could face its largest waves since 1964 starting at 11:19 a.m. (4:19 p.m. EST, 2119 GMT), according to Charles McCreery, director of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. - Yahoo

Tsunami waves were predicted and threatens to hit Australian, and Asian shores including the Philippines within 24 hours.

According to news, the death toll was at 78 and rising, but  still no exact information of how many were injured.

Several hospitals there were evacuated due to the horrible effects of the huge quake. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center called for "urgent action to protect lives and property" in Hawaii, which is among 53 nations and territories subject to tsunami warnings.
The largest earthquake ever recorded struck the same area of Chile on May 22, 1960. The magnitude-9.5 quake killed 1,655 people and left 2 million homeless. The tsunami that it caused killed people in Hawaii, Japan and the Philippines and caused damage to the west coast of the United States.

Let's just be ready for anything that will happen. Let us pray that this would not bring so much effect as we are fresh from the tragic outcome brought by the quake that hits Haiti.

Manny Pacquiao versus Joshua Clottey fight on March 13, 2010

THE EVENT, Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey camp agreed to fight for WBO welterweight championship on March 13, 2010 in in Arlington, Texas, USA at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. This is due to the failed negotiations of Pacquaio vs Mayweather. They didn’t agree with the terms of the fight and the issue on drug testing. Bob Arum announced that the pound for pound king will fight against the native boxer of Ghana.

We know everything about Manny Pacquiao and who is our concern? His opponent. Who is Joshua Clottey? Clottey became prominent by winning in his first twenty fights, including 14 by knockout. His performance set him up to fight Carlos Baldomir, in a title defense by Baldomir for the WBC International Welterweight Title. Clottey lost by disqualification in a controversial fight. Joshua Clottey was winning the fight until the 10th round, where he was penalized two points for an intentional head butt. He was warned for his head but did it again resulting in the referee stopping the fight and disqualifying Clottey.Clottey rebounded from the loss by winning the African Boxing Union welterweight title in his next fight. He then rolled off a 10 fight winning streak which was highlighted by his first win on American soil and the capturing of several minor welterweight and middleweight titles culminating in an IBF Intercontinental welterweight title.

For sure many Filipinos will once again support Manny Pacquaio who have proven his craft for years. Pacquiao is currently the WBO World welterweight champion, Ring Magazine light welterweight champion, and is rated by Ring Magazine as the number 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.

       Don't judge the book by its cover, A loose adage which is specific to Jason Veron Francisco, A PBB housemate from Calero, Calapan, Oriental Mindoro. Way back in College, he was just a common student who sometimes came to school without paper or even ballpen, A nursing student who used to sit at the last corner of the room talking with his colleagues. When he first came out in PBB (Pinoy Big Brother), I am sure that you are one of the viewers who first criticized him for his looks and stance. I am his classmate for years and I don’t know that he has this good personality. He is game for anything, especially tests that will challenge him physically. Jason Francisco is infamous in Oriental Mindoro since he is just an ordinary Calapeno whose face is frequent in street brawls. In his College pictures below, you will see what I am saying.
        He became known in PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) for his respect and admiration for girls, this is because he lived his life with his grandmother. He is an avid fan of Binoe (Robin Padilla), that’s why he imitated the way he talks, the way he stands and the way he acts. Jason knows how to find ways in getting what he wants. Now that he became one of the PBB grand winners, I don’t think he still remember us.

The afterthought experience

Do you know Tino Sehgal? You know, the artist that doesn't allow any pictures taken of his works? And doesn't write any introduction, or artist statement? Or make written agreements with museums? That wants no material artifacts in his works?
Does it matter what the works are?
They are performative. More: they are performances. They are people doing things in exhibition spaces. They are things happening with people within an exhibition framework.
They could be happening to others (say, someone kissing). Or to you (say, someone talking with you).
You might never discover which part was the work. Yet somehow, you often do.

Once again: Does it matter what the works are? Once you experience something, what good is the analysis?
But we are pretty smart animals. We may experience, and still want to think about it. We may want to decide what we think, and if we will go to see this thing again or not. We may rework this experience in our mind until we decide, say, that this is just not enough. That a good ice-cream would have done the job. Or a meeting with a friend. Or both combined. Maybe in a museum. Maybe accompanied by a stranger, having a conversation about progress. The luxury of conversational art. Now isn't that progressive.

Then again, what is wrong with living a series of perfectly good conversations put into a gentle, clean formal frame? Can't we just accept this? What is it that makes one (me) so voracious?
Is it the fact I've never actually seen a Sehgal, done a Sehgal?
Isn't the picture enough?
Or the reviews that seem to make a huge effort in taking the mimetic weight off the image and putting some of it on words?
Paradoxically, all the effort put into keeping it live seem to make us focus not on the thing, but on this very effort. Would Tino Sehgal be at the Guggenheim had he allowed taking pictures? So what exactly is the work, here? How come I feel it so clearly, if it's all about presence? Or am I just feeling its double, its fake, the afterthought? But isn't that crucial in experience? Doesn't that re-constitute the experience once it is over? Can one re-construct something one did not experience in the first place?
You would have to have been there. The most dreaded sentence in the world. What are we supposed to do with it? Take a hidden snapshot?

Angel Locsin is a Filipina Television and film actress, she is a commercial model, film producer and fashion designer. She rose to prominence after being cast as one of the lead stars in Mulawin in 2004. She also starred in Darna in the TV adaptation of Mars Ravelo comics. When her contract was expired with GMA7, she signed a contract with ABS CBN. Lobo, that was her first project in ABS-CBN.

ANDREW KOENIG found dead

Andrew Koenig, an actor who have disappeared few days ago has been found dead in Vancouver’s Stanley Park. This was confirmed by Walter, Koenig's father saying that his son took his own life.


Andrew’s parents reported the actor who played Boner in the 1980’s television series as missing after they received a letter from him. The young Koenig sounded distraught in the letter, according to Walter. Andrew was last seen alive on February 14 when he left a friend’s apartment in Vancouver.

Koenig's body was found in an isolated section of the more than 1000 acre park. Pains was axed in 1992. He also dabbled as a stand-up comedian, film producer, and voice talent. He provided the voice for Ambush and Night Creeper Leader in the G.I. Joe cartoon series in the 1990s.

Police spent about a week searching for Andrew, who was reportedly suffering from clinical depression.

Andrew was born on August 17, 1968 and died February 25, 2010. He is known as Josh Andrew Koenig or Andrew Koenig, born in Los Angeles, California. He was an American character actor, film director, editor and writer and a son of actor Walter Koenig. He was known for his role Pavel Chekov in Star Trek.

Whale kills trainer as horrified audience watch

A seaworld killer snatched her trainer from a poolside platform Wednesday in its jaws and thrashed the woman around underwater, killing her in front of the horrified audience.

Dawn Brancheau, trainer, was rubbing Tilikum after a noontime show when the 12,000-pound whale grabbed her and pulled her in, said Chuck Tompkins, head of animal training at all SeaWorld parks. Park officials said that the trainer drowned.

Skaggs, 72, said an alarm sounded and staff rushed the audience out of the stadium as workers scrambled around with nets.

Skaggs said he heard that during an earlier show the whale was not responding to directions. Others who attended the earlier show said the whale was behaving like an ornery child.

He left with his wife and didn't find out until later that the trainer had died. The retired couple from Michigan had been among some stragglers in the audience who had stayed to watch the animals and trainers when the accident occurred.

The experience of Dawn Bracheau is the not first attack, during November 2006, a trainer was bitten and held underwater several times by a killer whale during a show at SeaWorld's San Diego park.

The trainer, Kenneth Peters, escaped with a broken foot. The 17-foot orca that attacked him was the dominant female of SeaWorld San Diego's seven killer whales. She had attacked Peters two other times, in 1993 and 1999.

Wednesday's attack was the second time in two months that an orca trainer was killed at a marine park. On Dec. 24, 29-year-old Alexis Martinez Hernandez fell from a whale and crushed his ribcage at Loro Parque on the Spanish island of Tenerife. Park officials said the whale, a 14-year-old named Keto, made an unusual move as the two practiced a trick in which the whale lifts the trainer.

Nintendo DSi XL launching March 28, 2010 in North America

              Nintendo plans to launch the latest version of the most popular handheld video game system, it is called DSi XL on March 28, 2010 in North America


            It costs $190. It will have two screens like its predecessors, but as the name suggests, the the device and screen is larger than their previous devices. The Nintendo DSi XL is already available in Japan.


               Nintendo Co. also says it's launching "Super Mario Galaxy 2" for the Wii console on May 23 and "Metroid: Other M" on June 27.

Nokia VP admits Nokia N97 "sucked" and a tremendous disappointment

Its hard to admit mistake publicly for a company who have build its name for centuries saying that their product sucked or a tremendous disappointment


Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia's Vice President said in an interview that the Nokia N97 clicked to its market but was sucked and tremendous disappointment in terms of quality which the consumers did not anticipate.

He also added that they have learned lessons and those lessons were applied already in the new firmware version. Symbian 3 will roll out in the future where Nokia has a huge promise about it, "we have taken the learnings and when the Symbian 3 comes out, rest assured that it will be perfect" Nokia VP added.

Provincial Audition Schedules of PBB Teen Edition Clash of 2010

To all my readers who flooded the comment box asking for auditions in provinces, I will post it here soon, the current update up to now is that the audition registration in Manila was closed and they are already starting auditions in PDA Concert Hall for Manila text registrants. Inasmuch as i want to accomodate all your queries, I just posted it in one of my blogs that PBB Teen Edition Clash auditions in provinces is not yet announced.


To all fans of PBB Teen Edition Season 3 2010, once the show doesn't start yet, we all have our chance.

Twitter users creating 50 million 'tweets' per day

The micro-blogging service said that twitter are creating 50 million tweets per day composing of 140 characters or less. A member of Twitter Analytics team, Kevin Weil said in his blog post that twitter users are writing 5,000 tweets per day in 2007, 300, 000 tweets per day in 2008, 2.5 million in 2009 and now is 50 million tweets.


In short, tweets in twitter is approximately 600 tweets per second as of the day. Spam are not included here. The number of actual tweets is far higher because many messages are being delivered from multiple accounts, According to Weil.

Chinese President Hu Jintao signs up for Microblogging

Hu Jintao, Beijing China President has set up a microblogging account that has drawn several followers last Monday, in his country where social networking sites such as facebook, twitter and etc. are strictly prohibited.

This was operated by the People’s Daily, the mainprint media mouthpiece of the ruling Communists party. The state-controlled Global Times newspaper said the People's Daily had set up its microblogging site on February 1. Hu's profile has no message, photo or information other than his name and official titles.

It was not clear when the account was set up, but more than 14,000 web users had signed on to follow the account by Monday morning, allowing them to receive updates by email, Windows Messenger, or Google's Talk service.

If we should remember, China has threatened google for its hacking allegations. The New York Times reported last week that the hack attacks had been traced to two elite Chinese schools, but both have denied any involvement.

Until now, youtube, twitter and facebook are strictly prohibited in the country, the reason why Google Buzz as of today is being crowded by Chinese users.

I am sure that many Chinese would agree if the three of the most well-known sites today will be unbanned in their country considering that they are the most populated country in the world.

Starstruck 5 Grand Winners of 2010

They dreamed then and believed that they can survived.

The 23 year old Steven Silva was declared the Ultimate Male Survivors and Sarah Lahbati in the female Division, 16 year old was the StarStruck 5 Big Winners of 2010.











This announcement was made yesterday at Araneta Coliseum where the Final judgment was held. Second to Steven was Enzo Pineda wile Rocco Nacino came in third bagging the Second Prince title. Diva Montelaba, automatically became the First Princess.

These two teens got the highest combined text votes both mobile and online as well as the scores of the Starstruck 5 Council, composed of Lolit Solis, Iza Calzado, and Floy Quintos.

Sarah got an averaged of 94.6% while Steven had 93.5%. Diva Montelaba got 91.4 %, Enzo got 90.2%, while Rocco had an average of 88.3%.

Each of them won P1.5 million cash prize and a contract with GMA Network. Enzo, Rocco, and Diva, each receive P200,000 cash prize and exclusive contracts with the GMA Network.

Steven was often criticized forhis lack ofenergy and difficulty in speaking Filipino language. But his fans carried him to the top. In fact, when the accumulated viewers' votes of the six remaining finalists in the first nine weeks were revealed, Steven's votes were way higher than any survivor.

Sarah had the highest score from the Starstruck 5 Council in the first 9 weeks of the competition. But the beauty and golden voice of this Filipino-Morroccan proved to be irresistible for the viewers and the StarStruck Council.

This glow in the dark toilet paper is very useful during power outages while you’re blasting in the porcelain throne. Let's just hope that this toilet paper is safe to wipe in our butt.

In the united States, each roll of this toilet paper costs $8 dollars, so don't use it in unnecessary wipes.

Does Apple’s Pornography Purge a Smart Move?

I have read this news today and concerned because I am fan.

Apple is embarking to a new anti pornography crusade to ride its iPhone App Store for overtly sexual content.
According to new reports, the target of this plan includes adults which manage to incorporate the word “boob” in their titles.

Apple came up to this design due to the overwhelming comments of its customers in the company’s support forums about sexual content in the app Store.

According to Information Week, Apple developers have also griped about the sex-themed apps, which they say are proliferating in some App Store categories and making other apps harder to find.

At first glance, Apple’s move appears either prudish or hypocritical or both. Sexually-explicit content was already mushroomed in App Store, and some of the newly banned apps are about as racy as the Sport Illustrated swimsuit issue.

And if Apple really wants to engaged themselves out of pornography, why doesn’t it remove Safari from iphone and ipod touch? After all, web browser is the most efficient and easy to use tool application to access pornographic contents?
